Map Guide

This map visualizes the location and number of interviews for all the Memory Project villages that are held in Duke’s Digital Repository. It can be used as a navigation tool to locate and view interviews in the collection. It also gives the ability to filter the interviews by filmmaker and by subject term.

To zoom in or out, simply scroll over an area, or use the plus and minus buttons located in the upper left-hand corner of the map. At any point, use the home button in the upper left-hand corner to return to the full view. It’s also possible to zoom to a specific location by selecting a village and clicking the the “Zoom to” link which appears at the bottom of the pop-up.

Legend

The legend can be accessed by clicking the legend button which appears in the upper right-hand corner of the map.

Viewing interviews in the Duke Digital Repository

To view interviews by village, simply select the village on the map, then click on the “See_in_the_Digital_Collection” link.

Filtering

To filter interviews by province, filmmaker, pinyin and/or Chinese name of a village, click on the right-hand filter button which appears in the top left corner of the map.
